Default How do I mount Mac and Windows drives from Ubuntu for use by commandline programs

Anybody like to talk about this? I can mount network drives from Mac and Windows shares using the GUI. So the network is working fine.

However, I'd like to work on the network files from the command line. How do I
1) mount the network drives
2) where do the files appear in the file system
3) how can I use the automounter

Anybody?
