Hello all,

I have created a few AJAX applications and was wondering if there was any tools around that can emulate packet loss, and more importantly, connection resets between my computer and the server.

I have had a few clients say they get AJAX error 12152 in Internet explorer when they use Satellite internet or mobile phone 3g internet connections. I have tried with my phone, but it seems everywhere I test, the Internet is too good.

Does anyone know of any Windows software to test this?

I'll be honest and say that I've never heard of this problem nor a tool to recreate/test those conditions.

I've only done a little AJAX type programming, however most client-server code is written as a state machine that is designed to handle missing responses, responses out of sequence and so on.

Maybe one of our readers knows more about this kind of thing. However this topic is rather quite a long way from our usual discussions. Maybe an AJAX (or jQuery or jason) forum will be the place to find a solution.
