I live in a country where all IP addresses are dynamic and all ISPs use ISP side proxy servers... This has of course caused problems, because if someone using the same proxy server as yours acts stupid, you would probably end up banned too. This used to be easily solved by doing an IP reset...using ipconfig /release, /flushdns, and then resetting the modem. At most this took only a few tries. I recently switched ISPs, and have now tried to change my IP again, but it does not seem to be working despite 5+ tries. The ban message keeps coming up, and its the same ip everytime(probably the proxy server, my ipv4 address in ipconfig is different from that one, although the ipv4 address keeps showing up as the same despite multiple attempts to reset my ip). Is there anything i can do about this? Am i doing the IP reset correctly(tried the method on the site, does not appear to have changed anything), because i dont think the IP itself is changing. The site admin is famous for not responding to attempts to contact him, and appeals to bans are usually not even considered regardless of how valid it is. |

That's unfortunate that they don't respond.
Your best bet may be to get some software like www.hidemyass.com where your IP is masked using their system. There are other programs out there as well that might be able to help and if this type of program doesn't work, you'll likely need a private VPN service. Are you sure that link is correct? It gives me a generic website with scantily clad models...
Even though ISPs are almost the same(same type of cable service, etc) i think i was able to change proxy servers with my previous one by doing the steps i mentioned above...but i seem to be stuck on the same proxy server with my current ISP. Is there any way to force the proxy server change? |

I've edited the link now to go to the correct site. |

So you are basically saying VPN is the only way? I cant actually change the proxy server i connect to or anything?(Although it seemed to work in the past for some reason...)

The proxy you are going through now is basically a forced connection by your ISP due to the way their network is set up.
The www.hidemyass.com might allow you to mask your connection, but a VPN service would definitely allow you to mask your connection. You might also try foxyproxy for Firefox. It's free. I'm quite certain if foxyproxy doesn't work for you then www.hidemyass.com won't work for you either.....as I think the 2 are pretty much the same. We have proxy detection on our home page and when I used foxyproxy, our home page did not show my own IP nor did it detect the proxy, so it seemed to work pretty well. |

Thats odd, foxyproxy's site specificalyl states its not anonymous, and according to the descriptions it seems to be a tool to change proxies, and doesnt actually have a proxy for you to connect through, so you need to find appropriate proxies yourself.
Do you have any free alternatives to hidemyass? It seems to be a paid service. |

I don't know of any free alternatives. Even though FoxyProxy states they're not anonymous, I've used them on several occasions and the IP that's detected is the one of the proxy I'm surfing from and not my own.
