Hallo. I am using broadband provided by my landlord who lives on the floor above me. He has a router which allows me to connect to the internet ehrr threadless/no cord? (whatever its real name is im sure you get my drift
) pardon my english but technical translations come hard to me.I am guessing that since the company providing the internet he is paying for have no clue who is connecting to the network (everyone within a certain radius can access it) i should be able to forcibly change my IP with them having no chanse to take permanent action against it? if they do shut it down i just change it again and again? I tried that other tips but seeing i dont got direct access to the router its kinda hard i need to be able to do it directly from my computer. Any ideas as to how i should proceed? |

Ahh no, he knows i am using it offcource, and i guess usually its just his pc his wife's laptop and my two computers. So 4 computers all in all thats using his net. So they can see the mac number eh. Guess thats something i havent read up on. But how would you proceed to change the IP in my situation?
I was going to ask if i could change the mac number too but ill do some reading on the subject and come back if i cant understand it ![]() |

If he's fine with you using it and doesn't want anyone else to use it, read our Wireless Lockdown forum to prevent others from signing on.....and you'll need access to his router to make that happen.
You could possibly clone a MAC address on the network if the router has that option....but you will need access to the router. Not really sure you have any options here without router access. Yes the ISP can most likely see how many PCs are on the network....but 4 computers on the same network shouldn't raise any flags. |
