A little help please :(

I play this online game where you can be banned from servers. Anyway, I got banned from a server and I was told to just make my IP dynamic. I need to get into the router and whatnot. And my dad won't let me unplug anything or whatever nor will he give me the router password. So is there anyway I can change my IP? Thanks

If you can't unplug the router or get into it for that matter, not sure there is anything you can do.

is the router and modem one unit?

if not, then it doesn't matter much that he won't let you unplug the router, just unplug the modem for a while

otherwise, the only thing you can do is call the ISP and ask (maybe you will get lucky), or if you can get into the router, you may be able to change your IP by setting it static, but you may just get the plug pulled by your ISP

best chance is to unplug your modem for a while or call the ISP and ask nicely...tell them you think your remote desktop connection is being attacked by a hacker that knows your IP and you need it changed... something like that...

Well thanks i'll call my ISP I was told to try that. But I got banned from some servers on the game for annoying people I guess. I can't really explain it without telling it in essay form because it's so long. But thanks again guys

well also sometimes the router password is "admin" and usually leave the username blank, at least that is what it is for my router

if the router's username is default, usually you can just do a google search for the model and "default password" and find out what the PW is

if you forget how to access your router, you can go to start > run > type "command" (enter) > ipconfig

your default gateway is usually the router IP address

Well, you'll probably need to use a SOCKS proxy for it to work in game. If you have DSL/Cable it won't work and you'll have to wait until your next automatic IP change. If it's a static IP, that's just VERY unlucky.

A type of SOCKS, HTTP and all that stuff proxying tool is FreeGate. Don't download the 6.6 version, it's a spoofed version somebody made to give people trojans, download 6.76 or something.

Another idea is that if any of your neighbour's internet connections are available to connect to, connect to their's and you can use THEIR IP to go on.

Also, on a final note, if it was for annoying people, maybe you should LEARN from your mistake, and if/when you get unbanned, apologise for what you did, and just don't do it again. And if you do, you can always ask for help here!

P.S: Try and specify what game you play that you are getting banned in, maybe I can try tell you the correct tool you can attempt to use to get past the ban.

Keep in mind that different ISP have different procedures, the IP address changes, if you request an IP changes, once it is approved, it may not be approved, so very easy in the coming time.
