We've added a IP WHOIS Lookup tool.

Works great in most cases - any chance you could contact me re setting up a script that returns the whois info in xml form? I would be more than happy to put a link that refers back to wimi, I just can't continue using google's api due to the javascript that is involved and the forwarding not being crawled properly . Thanks in advance if this is possible.

We get our whois from ip2location.com. He might already have an xml feed set up.

If not, maybe we can work something out for you....depends on the amount of requests, etc.

the test i'm using right now with the maxmind free database is - it's only a 45mb db and severely inaccurate with IP blocks that have been recently moved or not updated properly. For instance, with my IP, it will not go past the country level, but at least with your lookup (or ip2location) it gets you down to vancouver, which is 50km away, and obviously the largest metro center nearby, which is ideal for the woman who owns the site. For reference, since the site is so new, she has had about 500 unique hits a month - and once the lookup is done, it should store the location in the session. Basically, the only thing I want returned is city, region, and country - everything else is superfluous. If this works for you, plus some links that say "powered by wimi" and perhaps more if necessary, then I'd be happy to sit down and hammer out the details with you. I can even write the code for you if necessary, in php.
