Default To Connect with Remote Desktop Connection

I have Broadcom DSL Modem and on that modem i have a static ip addresse.
I have Linksys router BEFSR41.
DSL Modem Cable is going to Linksys Router WAN Port and Linksys Router LAN Port going to Switch and Switch to workstations.
So, is there any solutions for to connect Remote Desktop on the any one of them workstations?

Yeah you'll need for forward port 3389 to the machine you want to access, so you can get to it from the outside.

I have a similar issue. Excuse my ignorance, but, what does "need for forward port 3389 to the machine you want to access" mean?? Is this something I do on my router or on the machine I want to reach? I am running a later version on XP Pro on the office workstation that I want to reach from outside. I have already enabled RDP and even added users.

I attempt to connect in RDP by putting the static IP address in the "computer name" field but get a message as follows:

The client could not connect to the remote computer.

Remote connections might not be enabled or the computer might be too busy to accept new connections. It is also possible that network problems are preventing your connection.

Please try connecting again later. If the problem continues to occur, contact your administrator.

Can anyone give me more detailed, step-by-step instructions on how to set this up correctly?

Thanks,

Joel

One of our Mods put a really good article about port forwarding on his site.
