Are you trying to VPN to the router or to a 2k3 server?
If you're trying to VPN to a server you'll need to forward the appropriate ports if you haven't already. If you're trying to connect to the router, here's a link to the information which you can browse to see if it's supported. http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=565 |

thanks for the quick reply
here it is 1-modem 2-router dir 615 wireless with ports open w/dhcp 3-server 2003 w/ vpn installed but not dhcp -first question is, should i have two nic's or just one -from what i understand it seems the client isn't given an ip, maybe this is the problem -does this make sense |

You'll need to enable dhcp on the server and in order for it to stay 'enabled' you'll need to disable dhcp on the router.
VPN works best when you have a second NIC and let that NIC handle all of the VPN connections. Yes...the clients will get assigned an IP address from the pool of IPs that you designate during the VPN setup in 2k3. This is a pretty good article http://articles.techrepublic.com.com...1-5805260.html |
