Confused by Subnets?

Apologies if this is an unwelcome post. I would NOT take offense at removal. But one of the subject surrounding TCP/IP that caused me the most confusion was subnetting and the subnet mask. And there was a Web site that provided, for me, the single most understandable and clear explanation of subnetting that I've ever encountered.

Learn To Subnet

Clear language, great illustrations to back up the point, and just enough jargon to make the reader feel techie.

Anyway, after reading that site, I felt like I finally understood subnets and how to use the subnet mask. Most definitely worth the read, IMO.

DISCLOSURE: I am not affiliated with that site in any way. I was referred to it by a poster on Usenet some years ago, and I still return to it to refresh my memory about subnetting. I've never needed the larger "Learn to TCP/IP" site, and so never used that.

Usually we're a little reluctant to allow hyperlinks, but reputable sites like this certainly fit our "link criteria".

Thanks for the addition. I'm going to take advantage of the site to learn more about subnetting.
