No, I'm not a cowboy. But I tend to use that word when I greet someone, nonetheless.

I've worked at quite a few companies (including my current employer) where I was "The I.T. Guy." I would say I know quite a lot about a lot of things, but not so much about any one thing that I'd consider myself *the* expert on it. I actually got into I.T. by working customer service for Microsoft quite a few years back now (think Win95 launch). I think that's given me a "soft" view of I.T. that's rare in the biz, and saying so has earned me more than one of my past jobs.

I've been coming here to mostly use the IP Address Lookup tool, but decided to join the forum and have a look-see. Hopefully, if I have an issue, someone here can help, and if I see something with which I'm familiar, I'll toss in my couple of pennies' worth (1.2 cents after inflation).
