Hello everyone, I'm Tim from Wisconsin. I guess I was aware of this site before, but today is the first time I looked closely at what's offered and was pleasantly surprised at the wealth of resources here, so naturally I had to sign up. I own and run a website for a local radio talk show called "The Bill Sebastian Show" and it seems there's always more to learn about operating a web site.

Otherwise, I'm single and retired. My interests are my cats, music, reading, old movies, computer programming, and the internet.

One quickie question: I first went to my control panel to set my options the way I usually like to set them and got the message saying I don't have permission to access. Ummmmm.....huh? Never have run across a forum where a registered and activated member can't set his CP options. Something must have gone haywire. Maybe it'll be working next time I log on.

Hi Tim....thanks for joining the forum.

I'll move you to a different group so you'll have permissions to edit the user CP.

We've had a lot of spammers on here so we keep things a little locked down for new users....but it keeps us 100% spam free.

Wimi beat me to saying "Welcome" and he beat me to explaining about the spam policy. Sure, it's a little inconvenient when you join - however it's for the good of the group.

You're right that there's always something to learn about web site - and indeed all software technology. It's not only a vast field, it's also continuously changing. However that's what makes it fun.

Thanks much for the warm welcome. When I saw the post go to the mod queue I understood; 'course then it was beyond my power to edit out the question. So thanks for not beating me up for the obvious.

Going to my CP now ......
