On a computer in your network, go to a command prompt and put in ipconfig /all and it'll show you the DNS. You can enter that number in your PS3.

How is the PS3 connected to the network? You should be able to set those numbers to auto populate.

Do you have a router it's going through?

Wired or Wireless?

Does it see your wireless network?

Is your network secure?

Do you need to enter a WEP/WAP or password to access your wireless?

What kind of router do you have (make/model)?

Are you able to connect other devices wirelessly?

If not then the problem is your router.

If you can connect other devices wirelessly, I'd say put everything on the PS3 dealing with the network back to default and try again.

If your ISP provided you the router, they may have limited the amount of wireless connections. Try turning off one of the wireless devices (laptop) and then try to connect again.
