By default, most home wireless routers are set to handle many computers. When in fact, they'll only be handling a few.
If you have 1 wireless device, either turn off DHCP and assign your wireless device a static IP or limit DHCP to 1 IP. I've found it's more convenient to limit the router to 1 DHCP address so when you take your wireless device (probably a laptop) on the road, you don't have to delete your statically assigned IP to connect to the hotels wireless.
