Hi, I am trying to diagnose a problem for a friend. He receives email (he uses Outlook) from varying yahoo addresses which is spam (the content is only a URL. But the issue is that the "to" address is not his. His address is name@bigpond.com, but the recipient address is name@hotmail.com. The yahoo and hotmail "name"s are arbitrary string of characters, which display as genuine looking names.
Can anyone explain to me how this is done, and whether there is anything I can do about it? Thanks, |

he could be on the BCC list
there are many ways that spammers do this stuff, it is difficult to block unless you start filtering by originating IP or some other general anti-spam methods |
