Hi... I just started attending a course in web design and would like some help understanding some sauce.
I understand that a tag opens with a <tag> and closes like </tag>..... But I dont understand the line: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> Why does this not get closed? If I remove it... it seems fine... do I even need it...? |

all I can tell you is that not all tags get closed, really its just tags that have text between the opening and closing

I agree with AboveTheLogic's reply. And to get back to answering you, I'd say that the line you've mentioned would be written in the <Body> section and that tag will get closed towards the end. That's what I think, I could be wrong.
