I have an AT&T BlackBerry and require a static IP address. I have been give the APN "i2gold" to use to get the static address. When I set my BlackBerry to that APN Settings>Options>Advanced Options>TCP/IP APN:i2gold and then go to www.wimi.com it is not showing my static IP. I have heard that the BlackBerry uses's multiple IP addresses. Can anyone shed any light on this? Thank you |

I wonder if your outbound traffic is still going through AT&T? If that's the case then you will see a different IP than the one assigned to you by i2gold.
However, for inbound traffic, your IP may be static. You could probably install a trial version of an ftp server really quick on your computer then from a different connection, put in your static IP + :21 (eg. 123.123.123.123:21) to see if your ftp server answers your request. If it does then your static IP is inbound only and not outbound. Let me know what you find. |
