Use Gmail for your email.....the IPs seem to only go back to Google and not individual users. However, that's not to say that Google isn't tracking you and could easily store your IP in their logs when you access their system.

The best way would be to use a private VPN service. But again, they'll probably log the IP you connect from.

There's no real 100% fool proof way to go undetected on the internet. You can hide for quite some time but you'll eventually be found.

Default ip address confusion

my friend emailed me from philippines, i opened her email and got her IP address(from full headers), then i went to IP look up, it showed that the email originates from Sunnyvale California., i mean it couldn't be because my friend is from the philippines, is it possible?

Yes....that's probably a Yahoo address that they emailed you from.

I've only been able to find 3 free email providers that actually strip your IP; Gmail, Hushmail and Fastmail.
