Victimized and need Help!

Hey everyone!

I'm new here and would like to know if there is anyone who can help me. A few weeks ago my wallet was stolen. In my wallet was 5 credit cards, my bank card, checks, SS cards (Mine and my kids) cash the whole 9. Before I even realized it was gone this scumbag used my debit card to buy a bunch of porn online. One of the companies gave me the E-mail address and IP address that was used to make the purchase. The police closed the case because there was no video surveillance. Is there any way to find out who this douchbag is from the information i was given?

I'm very sorry to hear this story. It's very frustrating and hurtful that the police can't deliver "justice".

However if the police have closed the case, I don't see what else can be done. If the law can't pursue the case with that evidence - then what would you do even if you knew who did this? You're not going to send round the boys to beat the culprit about the head and face, are you?

If the case has been investigated and you're not out of pocket on this matter, the best thing is to forget about this and take whatever measures you feel will prevent another occurrence.

umm ok yes it is possible to catch the person unless there using a ip hider but search the ip addy and you will get a latitude nd longitude a city nd state if its by were u lost it chances are it will be that persons real ip if its a fake ip it will be nowhere near where you live most likely

ok once you narrow down the person's (likely) general location by the host information of the IP address, how to you actually catch that person?

The info you have regarding the general location should also contain info specifying what ISP the person used (Comcast, ATT, etc...). If you also have the date/time when the IP was used to buy that porn you can call the ISP and ask which of their customers was using that IP at that specific time. Unfortunately, they may be reluctant to give that up without a warrant. This is where you may need to get the police to re-open your case and get them to issue a warrant to the ISP. Good luck.
