So you're wanting to connect 2 computers to the same meeting? And both computers are in different buildings/towns/countries?
When you say "Virtual IP Addresses" do you mean your router has a public IP and your workstations have 192.168.x.x addresses or something similar? Will one of the computers you want to connect to be the NetMeeting server or will you use a server that already exists? |

Here's a support link from Microsoft.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/158623 Looks like you'll need to forward some ports in your router to your computer. You can either do that or put your computer in the DMZ in the router during the NetMeeting and move it out of the DMZ when you're done. The person connecting to you will need to put in the IP address that you see when you go to our homepage. If they can't connect, it's a firewall issue. You may also need to temporarily disable your PC firewall if it's turned on. Let me know if you need more help. |

You're not really giving one of your computers the external IP. You're only forwarding a port request from the external IP to an internal IP. You'll need to read the manual for your router to accomplish this step.
Having the firewall disabled on your computer will help make a success of this connections. The remote computer connecting to you will put in your real IP address. After you forward the right ports in your router, the request will then be passed to the internal IP. This is known as NAT (Network Address Translation). If you choose not to do the port fowarding and go with the DMZ instead, you'll need to refer to your routers manual in order to learn how to put a PC in the DMZ. |
