I am still having trouble with my slow connection I posted about a couple weeks ago, but i think i have narrowed it down some.

Again, Time Warner Cable is my service provider. I have the modem running thru a new Linksys router. I have my desktop wired to the modem and I have my laptop and a PS3 running wireless.

My problem was I would uplug everything, power it back on and my internet would be super fast but after 15 min. it is really slow.

I have taken the router out all together and hooked up my desktop directly to the modem. I have had no trouble what so ever, but when I connect my laptop directly to the modem it does the same thing, fast for 15min then very slow.

I have had TW out here for the last 2 days, they swaped modems, power supplys, they cant figure it out.

any ideas?

Thanks,

My problem is my connection goes up and down. Its extremely fast for a few min. then it is painfully slow.
Time Warner cable is my service provider.
I have a desktop PC (vista) wired to my router, and have a laptop (windows 7) running wireless, and a PS3 running wireless. I have had it set up this way for a couple years with no problems.
One day I noticed that my connection was getting slower and figured my router was dying. I bought a brand new Linksys N router and couldn't believe how much faster it was after I hooked it up. 20min later it was as slow as it has ever been. Its the same problem on the wired desktop and wireless laptop

I hooked my computer directly to the modem and left it that way for an hour with it never slowing down.

If I restart the router its fast, but only takes 10min for it to slow down again.

I have been on the phone with Linksys and Netgear (my old router) and they cant help me.

any ideas?

thanks,
